| Headline: APB - "The end of an era" |

Late last week Realtime worlds announced they were to end services for the troubled game All Points Bulletin. All Points Bulletin was an up and coming shooter with some elements of an RPG and anMMO but with persistant matchmaking involved. The game's launch was anything but succesful with low reviews, low sales and generally regarded unfinished to many.
Despite this some of us in Xray-8 loved the game. The core members of the clan Shini, Wayneeey, Cronnie and Stryder took a gamble with this game as we expected the game to improve from Closed Beta, and yes it did improve greatly.eventually. But due to the "fail" launch of the game, what ever they fixed was too late. With low populations across all servers and generaly no marketing which is not surprising since well... RTW had no money. There are many reasons for the games downfall but that wont be mentioned here since most people know why it failed but a small hint I would put is arrogance and mismanagement in RTW's part.
But yes on the 16th of September APB Monkey (RTW's Community Officer) posted on APB.com (and well everywhere)
"APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end. Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running; APB is coming to a close. It's been a pleasure working on APB and with all its players. Together we were building an absolutely amazing game, and for that, we thank you. You guys are awesome!
From all of the Realtime World staff we thank you for your continued support.
The servers are still up, so join the party and say goodbye!" - Ben "APBMonkey" Bateman
While that was not surpising to some but many of us were just gobsmacked in a sense that the game lasted less than 3 bloody months, seriously a game lasting less than 3 months is depressing. And well it was sad, really sad, the game was truely unique, it had so much potential and generally no game deserves to die like this and certainly not APB. What's also just sad was the general lack of support from most of the gaming community, I've never seem so much hate for a game like this.
But anyway this is being posted late due to the fact that I have come to believe that the servers are officially dead now, well yesterday they haven't come back online and with APBMonkey's personal twitter stating the possible worst.
Well...this is it then, Goodbye APB, I never whored a game so much ever (Besides Socom 2 and BF2 =3) This game gave me the most rage ever almost aneurism levels but also true joy in so many occsaions, I also griefed a couple of times :3 that was great too. Thanks for keeping my summer intresting APB and thanks RTW for trying something new, most developers these days are just pussies. I will keep this game on my computer as a memento (but yeah i will have to move it off the SSD though :3)
But yeah there are rumours that Epic Games may purchase APB but this is rumour at best due to the BBC's report in which their spokesperson neither confirmed or denied this, although the CEO did express his fondness for APB.
And on a different note X-8 is a PS3 clan through and through, but we also have a PC gaming crowd, and trust us to fall in love with APB and then only to have it taken away from us. Seriously fuck my life, no fuck ll our lives, a game devoper takes a huge risk and fails bigtime if anything this hurts us all. Now were probably going to be stuck in a riskless gaming era for some time...probably not, im just angry and sad at the same time.
Bye again APB :'(
